I would strongly suggest looking for a Chamberlain Liftmaster. Belt-drive and quiet, worth whatever it takes for you to find a dealer.

I know Chamberlain makes Craftsman GDOs, but if I buy a AUTHENTIC chamaberlain, I'm assuming that was made to their spec and not cheapened by Sears to reach a price point?

Sears can ship this one to me and install it as well.

My dad put one in his garage in 1971. It is still running.

I put one in my garage in 1990. It is still running and I have NEVER had to to anything to it except lubricate the screw drive.

Don't waste your time and money installing a Craftsman. If you visit this site regularly you know there are many posts about problems with their product.

That's why I was asking about the Chamberlain WD822KD. I'm wondering if its any good?

I have two of them (installed for about a year now) VERY quiet and I really like them. Paid just under 2 bills each when I bought them at Lowes. Easy install too if you're at all handy.

I HIGHLY recommend this model.
