I have a 4 year old X-304. I really do love this tractor. I have a lot of trees and the all wheel steer is great for maneuverability.

Here's the problem. 2 years ago I got a sweet gum ball caught in the transmission fan. I destroyed the fan and the drive belt. I loaded it up and took it to the dealer for repair. When I got it back the parking brake did not work. Whenever I depress the peddle to set the break, the drive belt falls off due to lack of tension. The mower operates fine when in the drive mode. I called them at the time and they wanted me to return the mower which is a huge pain. I asked them if they could "talk" me through the adjustment. They could not.

I can't believe I have lived with this for 2 years. Yesterday I did beg the John Deere's support site to get me an answer. I am waiting on their reply. But I thought maybe someone out there had encountered a similar problem.

It can't be that the belt is on wrong (Can it ?) as it works fine while in the drive mode. It must be an adjustment but darned if I can find it.
