I have a Stihl 028 woodboss that my dad bought new in around 1980 or 1981. We had not used it for several years. I got it out last week and tried to start it and it would not start. After a bit of tinkering around, found no fire to plug.
I bought an Oregon electronic ignition replacement and installed it today. It started quickly but then died.
Since then, it will not hit a lick. Has fire, has gas.
I did note that a few times when I pulled the cord, it did sound a bit like a "spit" or backfire, but never started.
Thoughts and help appreciated.
