536 is a Murray.
Your Sears # doesn't come up on their website.

You likely would be better off buying a new tiller, the Murray is cheap enough that repairing is not economical

I found a break down of the transmission for a 1.6 hp Murray and it had the shaft and gear I needed. The sears model # I have is 536.292500 Sears only sells the whole transmission. Thanks .http://www.partsandservice.com/bin/ipl.cgi

I am in the same boat, here. I cannot figure out the link. If anyone has a breakdown of the parts, and a place to get them, I sure would appreciate it.

Amazon has it, same shaft was put in lots of tillers. Stupid how you need to spend $189 to Sears for the whole unit.
