I have not seen something like that that I can recall. I thought that maybe a substitute would be some of the child shovels I see sometimes. The handle is not quite long enough but the blades are smaller than adult sized shovels. You may be able to replace the handle on them with something longer. Although, I am fairly positive that the standard handle replacements would not fit them as they all seem to have smaller diameter handles than the adult versions. A broom handle might work or you could trim down a garden handle.

I have one of Lee Valley's long handled trowels, and like it a lot. The long handle lets me use both hands for more leverage. The stainless steel stays shiny and won't rust. Lee Valley has a lot of good tools and things, including gardening tools.
