I have an F401, a mid-tine machine, that was leaking oil. It seemed to be fine in use, but would leak copious amounts of oil over the winter. It was evident that it was one or both oil seals at the tine shaft.

Using the Hayward catalog (more info below), it looked like an easy repair, and it was -- two rubber seals mounted in machined metal, easily pried out and the new ones pressed in with only the need for some moderately firm taps of a hammer. And no leaks anymore. (Not having a repair manual, I improvised the whole thing and don't think I messed it up. I worried a bit about the inevitable residual crap on the shaft munging up the new seals, but lubed 'em up with oil and they seemed to go on OK -- the shafts on mine are actually a little larger on the bearing surface where the seals go, and there's no residue there.)

It looks like the construction of your machine is similar except that it has two shafts instead of one. See if one or more of the shaft ends is all oily and that should tell you where the leak is. I could probably have replaced just one seal, but they weren't expensive so I did both. The hardest part of the whole thing was figuring out how to suspend the machine with the tines off.

Go to the Hayward catalog (link below), use the "Select Catalog" drop down list in the upper left corner to choose Honda and follow your nose to the rototiller info. They have complete exploded parts lists for these machines from which you can get part numbers for either online or local ordering. (Your Honda power equipment dealer should also have these, but I always like to go in prepared and to be able to work through the repair in my head before committing to it. My dealer didn't have the seals in stock but was able to get them in just a few days.)
