I recently bought a used MTD chipper (it looks identical to this one on ebay in the link below). I'm having a tough time finding a replacement bag for it. Any suggestions on where I might find one? Home Depot and Lowes both do not carry any here. Also any ideas on how I might find out the model number? There is no sticker and I don't have a manual for it either. Thanks in advance!
I've got a 1990 5hp Craftsman made by MTD 247.797851 which appears to be same as the Ebay listing. It is an MTD 650 chipper.
742-0571 is a blade part number. The correct bag number is 764-0199A which is replaced by 964-04022. Cost is about $33.00. MTD also has a larger bag 764-0430 which cost about $46.00.
Home Depot used to carry an Arnold equivalent of the 764-0199A for $20.00, but they appear to have discontinued. They were "yellow tagging" for $5.00 and I was able to grab several. Unfortunately, I only have two left and can't part with them.
You should be able to Google the three numbers and find internet sellers like M&D and Tree Tools.
I have an MTD 645B chipper/shredder, circa 1993. I have a 5hp Briggs and Stratton engine. I cannot find any model/serial number for this engine. Any thoughts?
