Material question for plant structures

I replaced an old fence this summer and have a pile of old fence boards (cedar) and some 2x4s and 4x4s. I had to replace it due to structural issues with the posts.

I want to re-use some of this material, but am concerned about how the paint may affect my veggies. The fence was about 40+ yrs old, so one can only assume the flaking paint is lead based.

Can I use any of this to build structures for climbing plants or am I risking contaminating the veggies. I'm thinking trellises for beans, peas, fruit etc.

Thanks.
