A co-worker of mine is selling one of these for $250; has a new B/S 8HP engine. Went over his house and gave it a try; works pretty well other than the fact that the blades are a little dull and need some sharpening. The maximum size branches I need/will need to chip are about 2.5". My biggest questions are:
1. If I can throw small branch stubs into the top hopper (unlike some smaller chippers with leaf-only shredders)?
2. As far as replacing/sharpening blades (and finding any parts for that matter), how hard will it be since this unit is fairly old? I don't want to find out that the blades can't be sharpened anymore and need to be replaced, only to then find out that the blades aren't made anymore.
Thanks for any help you can give!
