Help- Have a Scott 1742 Riding Lawnmower. The Reverse Safety Switch does not work, press the switch, shift to reverse, the mower dies. I took enough things off to get to all wiring - The switch changes continuitiy when pressed (I hooked it up to an Ohm meter), so it is OK.

The other wiring that runs back to the transmission checked OK for continuity. At a loss - I would appreciate any ideas on how to check further and a rundown of exactly how it is designed to work. Can shift to reverse at will when blade is not engaged. Thanks
