what type weebus?...metal halide, High Pressure Sodium?

I've grown in my basement under 1000 watt HPS for years and everything did fine. I'm sure it will work for you also in the GH.

If it's to supplement lighting HPS will be fine, although it will give a yellowish light.

It is 600w HPS. The issue I was excited about was it is an electronic ballast rather than a magnetic one. The ballast itself weighs only 3.5 lbs!

It is supplemental lighting for the GH, six hours of sunight will have to take care of the blues...literally

I don't know what size of greenhouse you have but you may want to invest in a light mover of some type. I used the Light Rail for years. It's a good product. It will help you get a more even coverage of supplemental light. The HPS will work great. Haen't seen the electronic ballasts yet but 3.5 lbs.? Awesome...mine weighs about 30..LOL

Post a pic of your house...love to see it.

I need to post some pics. I had said on a different thread that since I gutted it, and I am completely re-doing the inside, I should post pics as I go, but I can't post 'em if I don't take them.

I just had a 500 gallon Propane tank buried along side of it, no need to worry about heat this year. I had all of the electrical upgraded, and now I am getting new lights. I just got back from picking up new benches I purchased and I will put them togethr tomorrow. I will try to remember to take pics...

It is 14x 20, wood frame gothic arch. This is on Gothic Arch Greenhouse website. That was right after I finished building it, so please excuse the yard. The inside is a bit different, besides being practically empty, it has the exhaust fan and louvers, elec, lights, H2O etc, that it didn't have in this picture. It will give you apreety good idea though.

For now I will grow only in one end, which should be enough. The reflector/ballast/HPS bulb cost about $500 for one, so I will have to wait until next month to get another. Most of the plants I have in there now won't need the supplemental light. They need to go dormant for the winter.

using a light rail or some other moving device you probably wouldn't have to get another one. You might want to check it out. The Light Rail has an expandable track that you could use to run the full length of your house...or at least the length of your cord...:)

ya, we used to strap our lights to our watering booms and set it for 99 passes on the slowest speed possible. Takes a LONG time to make 99 passes in a 150' Gh.
