Some people cannot pull the rope quickly enough to easily start the engine. IMHO, it is a pita especially if the unit is flooded. I have an older GT2000 that starts so easily and is a treat to use.

Thanks, canguy. I have two Echo tools, a smallish chainsaw and a backpack blower, and have been really happy with them---They have both been dependable and easy-starting---I think I'll save my $40-$50 and buy the 200R.

From what I have seen, Echo is doing a nice job of filling a gap between "throwaway" and high dollar commercial equipment. Of course, they make high end stuff as well, but their lower end stuff is MUCH better than many choices.
