I just wanted to know if this is a decent machine. I know a lot of you like the 12PT series, but those are more than I want to spend, plus we won't have a lawn tractor in the future. We're on acreage now, but our next move will be to a smaller property, an acre or less. I will want to shred straw in large amounts and other debris in smaller amounts, plus chipping up the many limbs that come down (we're on forested land) and prunings. We had bought the LSC800 model thinking it had the hammers, but it doesn't, plus it sounds like it wouldn't be good for shredding straw. It's an easy one to move around, though. The SC800 looks like it would have more weight when it was dropped down to move. The weight was mostly around the engine area on the LSC, not around the handles.
Any opinions on the SC would be appreciated. Thanks!
