I have owned a Troy Bilt chipper and a Mckissic. No comparison. Get the Mckissic.

I would try to find a used older Troy-bilt in good shape.

I didn't like my late 1980's Troy-bilt Tomahawk until I used two others, then I loved it!

One feature I still don't care for -- you don't realize the leaves on top of the motor have caught fire until you smell the smoke! -- the user is on one side of the machine and the motor is on the other side. But the spark plug wire is still ok after three smoldering fires.

I have a 12pt10 mackissic. Awesome machine. It has a shredder as well so you can throw your smaller 1 inch branches with leaves etc in there.
