Yep, RC Moser, you have found out the truth about Tecumseh engines. they are good, and all it takes is a bit of education about how to fix them. I'll take all i can get here. Parts is parts, and i have a big stock of B&S and Tec ignition and carb parts, etc.
I cannot understand why the learned heads in this sector always have to bad-mouth a perfectly good engine. I make good spending money by tuning them up and re-selling them.

Yep, I agree, used it today, started on the second pull. All I did was remove the carb bowl, drain the tainted gas. spray the main jet, float and seat, cleaned out the gas tank, changed the oil, and it ran great. I was going to remove the head and decarbonize the head, and piston, but it ran so good why fix something thats not broke!!!!

You guys are preaching to the choir. I stopped buying new mowers about 20yrs ago. I dumpster dive or find freebies on Craigslist. If I really get stuck, there is a guy like Rusty about a mile down the street. He always has a resurrected mower out front for sale. He sells a 1/2 dozen a season, mebbe more. Been doing it for yrs.
Curiosity got the better of me and I stopped and talked to the guy. He is the reason my dump finds petered out.
