Clean the carb again, once clogged up it can be hard to get those small holes clean. Steve

My SRM 210 has a tube, which I will call a breather tube, with a white plastic cap and an apparent air filter on the outside of a tube that goes into the fuel tank. I believe that this allows for air to get into the fuel tank to avoid creating a vacuum that would restrict the flow of fuel. When the end of the tube -- on the inside -- is at or below the fuel level, the trimmer chokes and will not run correctly. On my trimmer this tube is located next to the pull rope. Withdraw the the tube a little so that it is above the fuel level inside the tank.

ok, thanks for replies, i forgot to mention the the primer bubble doesnt suck fuel into the carb, if i try to start it, it will pull fuel in eventually and the run as i described. what causes the bubble to be hard to push in?

The part which I referred to as a breather tube, etc., is called a fuel vent and should be cleaned/replaced when the "Engine runs, but dies or does not accelerate properly."
After pressing my primer bulb 4 or 5 times it gets very hard to press. I stop pressing and start pulling. After it starts, the engine will not run without dying unless I squeeze the trigger 3 or 4 times when it starts to fade, until the engine gets warmed a little. When you stated that you cleaned the exhaust, I assume that you included the spark arrestor screen. It is possible that if care was not taken at that point without proper positioning of the piston at TDC, carbon deposits could enter the cylinder and keep the engine from running properly.

i made sure there were no carbon deposits in the cylinder. but i also tried running it with out the vent filter on and its still the same, what would cause the primer bubble to be hard to press even without fuel lines or return lines hooked up to the carb?
