skunk cabbage???

Well we made it through the winter. Wasn't easy with 17 FEET, yes I said feet of snow just in february. But now its may and the snow, well almost all of it, is gone. I was out wandering the woods for shed deer horns and came upon some (lots of them) SKUNK CABBAGE (symplocarpus foetidus). I don't know why I haven't thought of this before but they would make a great plant to put in that wet spot on the edge of the yard. The "flower" is intriging. I like the Hosta type look of the leaves. My grandmother used to say they are edible (if you're starving to death). I'm wondering how easy they would take to transplanting. I "googled" the name and found they have a rhyzome. I assume that if I just dug the rhyzome that it would take root like an Iris rhyzome. Anyone know much about the best way to transplant this? Or should I use the seeds? Also apparently there is a cousin to this called FALSE HELEBORE which is extremely poisonous. The latter is much taller with a totally different flower so they are easy to distinguish. Both species are growing together where I found the skunk cabbage. Since I have 7 huskies how poisonous is the false helebore?? I'm intrigued by the ARUM....Skunk cabbage. INFO PLEASE.
