Hello, I have a Stihl 017 chainsaw that I cannot get to run. I beleive it's about 5 years old. I had used it 2 or three months ago and it was fine. When I finished using it, I emptied the gas, started it up and ran it dry like I always do. When I went to use it recently, I mixed up a new gallon of fresh gas using a 1 gal Stihl mix that I got from the dealer. New gas, new Stihl oil mix. Tried to start it using the Stihl cold start process but nothing. has a good spark, it's getting gas. I tried cleaning it out, drying the plug, priming it with gas, nothing. Tried a brnd new plug, nothing. I put it away. I just tried it again and would not start with the choke. I tried it again the next day without the choke, used the "run" position. It started, but would not idle - I had to keep revving it to keep it going. So I'm scratching my head, what's going on here - why would it start on run but not on the choke? It's not usable though, after it started the initial time and was hot, it would not start again. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. - Jim
