Heat rises always!

The large view is really nice, but why have opening windows at the bottom with no return ventilation on top? The design is flawed unless the purpose of no vents at the top is to make an oven. Design this with openings at the top at two sides of the room, and it will be functional.

Dan- thanks for the thoughts... The windows face north, and at the back of the room not shown in the picture are windows that are higher up and open.
The condo is on a hill so the windows catch a breeze and then the higher windows draw the air through, up & out. We take pride in designs that are both functional, sustainable and hopefully aesthetically pleasing!

people forget - it isn't just cooling the indoor areas, it's air exchange that keeps them healthy and common window design just like building design has become set - Without much thought for decades

Hugh. Is it best to have a low window on the North side and high window openings on the South side? I have picture windows I am replacing facing on the south side and kitchen windows on the north. I am in the NW if that makes a difference. Jet stream comes from NW I believe.
