I identify insects for a living, but I'm not very familiar with Florida's insects, and there are tons. It's a beetle, but I don't know if it's a lady beetle (aka "ladybug") or not. It could be, but I can't see enough to be certain, and there are other sorts of beetles it might be, too.

Thank you, I'm hoping it's a ladybird beetle. Double Delight doesn't have any aphids at this time but I could find some on a rose tree for her:)

She's still on the bloom, a day later. The bud reminds me of a frog that hung around Gold Medal last year for several days.

Even bugs a territorial...lol

Where are you located?
No, it is not a lady beetle in the seach for something to eat like aphids. The beetle is a leaf beetle, a plant feeder, but I cannot tell you which one without more information or the actual specimens. This is not a regular pest on roses. It is probably a general feeder that likes to chomp on petals/foliage of many plants. Unless I see damage by the beetle, I would just let it be and let it enjoy life.

"Leaf beetle" ("Chrysomelidae sp.") is indeed the first "other" that came to my mind last night while I was writing my first response.

Well, it is NOT a baby Ladybug, but here is a site that may be able to help you: http://www.sactorose.org/rosebug. I have this site bookmarked, and every rosarian should as well.
