I would do a few things- starting simple first. Drop the bowl and check for water and pop in a new spark plug. Also, look at the engine bolts on these as they screw into the bottom of the sump. They can drop out allowing the engine to crack the exhaust pipe, rub electrical harnesses through on the corner of the block etc.

I think I did some of the simple things. I pulled the carb off, blew it out sprayed it down with carb cleaner, ran a wire through jets, etc. Bowl and carb were clean to start with but did it anyway. Put it back - same issue. Oil was changed about 2 run hours ago. Checked level, etc. Oil is clean, at the right level, etc. Plug looks ok, didn't change it though because I didn't think it was worth a trip to the store given my major symptom..... engine, when running makes a loud metallic noise, and when running, runs rough and has no power.

Fine one minute - s--- the next. I'll check the bolts but was wondering if I threw a rod, cracked a rocker arm, etc. I'm hesitant to pull the engine apart without getting a advice first.
