Some motorcycle shops will do fairing repairs with plastic welders.

Having spent about $100 for my plastic welder some years ago (wttool.com)(no affiliation, just a customer) I have found it to be a very profitable investment. The first job I saved a plastic actuator door on my old but trusty Pontiac, the parts would have cost twice the welder's price, plus taking half the Pontiac apart to replace them. Being extremely lucky, every repair I have undertaken was successful. The luck part is identifying the plastic material and matching it with the correct rod. A great way to cheat is to remove a sliver of plastic from the item you are repairing, you usually can find somewhere that could provide a graft. My welder looks like a blowdry appliance, and has a parts list. I have been very careful handling it and have never had a failure. This is one of those strange tools that can come in very handy, saving a LOT of time and money.
