Chainsaw stalling

My Stihl MS 290 has never worked right since I got it. After cutting firewood and limbs for a half hour or so it keeps stalling every few minutes--especially after I cut thru something at high rpms and then cut back on the rpm. My mechanic has checked it out twice and no change. Any suggestions?

It is likely set too lean to run properly once warmed up. This thanks to Nader and the EPA. Try finding a shop that knows how to properly set it up, they will likely need to remove the limiter caps on the carb to do this.

I THINK some Stihls use a carb that can't be adjusted with the exception of the idle screw. Definitely take it to a dealer that knows what to do. You may want to change mechanics.
