Now, you could paint, but I actually, like @lefty47, like the yellow.

It costs more, but rather than spend money on paint that the house doesn't need, invest in the resale value and get new garage door and improve the builder-grade columns.

There are a wide variety of garage doors. Below is one from http://garagewownow.com/.

I looked and couldn't find a photo of column options, but your local home store should be able to guide you through that process. I'm also not suggesting these particular doors, just attached the photo to show you just how much a difference that makes. Think about it, a good 1/3 of the visual real estate is dedicated to those doors. That's where you'll get the biggest impact.

The other thing I would do, is use the existing plants, and add to them. In the redesign, avoid the symmetrical grid design you now have, and add curves. Go with native plants to your region, and pick low-maintenance perennials. Perhaps a cascade of color with pots down the stairs onto the porch to the right of the front door.

Add window boxes!

I agree that the light fixtures is another way to upgrade. Depending on if you have done the garage door, I would stay true to the architectural style of the home and the doors you pick.

Another change you can make, again, pricey and unnecessary, is to change the driveway and path to the front door. Again, think curves. Leave the symmetry to the urns you could have by the front door to add that extra punch of color. You could use brick accents on the drive and path, or add tile to the porch and steps in.

Make that beautiful porch into something you use. You have a cafe table and two chairs, but they look like accessories and not used. I could be wrong. Add some warmth. Perhaps change up the furniture or add a railing, if and when you change the columns.

I can't tell where your mailbox is, but when you do the hardware and light fixtures, do that too. If at the house, coordinate (not necessarily match) the hardware and light fixture. If at the street, when giving your home a mailbox makeover,and don't forget to landscape not just the surround, but perhaps continue it from the path to the door.

You can switch it up with colors, of course. I love Benjamin Moore paints and their website is very helpful in getting ideas. You could increase the contrast and paint the front door a dark color. Whatever you do, keeping the house in tip-top shape is good for your own enjoyment, and for its resale.
