A few days ago I bough a brand new Garland 152E horizontal electric log-splitter , which does not work ! I tried various trouble shooting/solution following the manual , but still the piston , although moves forward , does not have the power/strength to spit logs . The tank takes 4.5 lit of machine oil and according to the manual the constructor might have load it with a maximum of 1.5lt . After a bit less than 1lt I loaded , it looks full . IâÂÂm ready to send it back , but before that , is anybody out there who knows the reply to my question âÂÂIf the splitter was stored for several years, can the machine oil " already in the tank - have been petrified? Any suggestion , further the reply to my question will be more than welcomed .
