I've had a 6 inch Ryobi for several years and it has plenty of power for mower blades. But for mulching blades I find an angle grinder works better for me.

I have always used an angle grinder with a 36 or 50 grit grinding disc for sharpening my mower blades. If you decide to get one of these I would spend the extra bucks and get one with a paddle switch (dead man type) because they are much safer than one with just on on/off switch. If you do much DIY stuff you will find several more uses for the tool because they are much more versitle than a bench grinder.

I was at a equipment show when the 4" angle grinder came out by black and decker they had cases of new grinders cost 68.00 that year and came home with one still got it its fastest speed one I have to date. replace cord twice last time put on 12 foot cord thats been one of choice to use many times. They called 4 1/2 grinders now think I have 4 thoses when welding use one to remove slag safes way to remove hot slag.

What mla2ofus said. I will need one once I get my dream garage/shop and will not settle for less than 1/2hp.It will draw more power and will likely need a dedicated circuit but the cheap off shore jobs will not git'er done.

Those who sell for less really know just what their product is worth!
And, when us Americans and others finally realise ya can't get a good product for cheap, maybe they'll bring back quality tools!
One time our Fire company decided to buy a bench grinder for the tool room. So, they bought one for cheap. Couldn't use it for much except sharpening envelope flaps! Ya couldn't bear down on it,it would stall out. Nobody would admit to buying it, but they still have it. I think they use it for sharpening screw drivers.
One time, i went to a garage sale. Fellow who lived there had fallen off his roof, trying to save money. He lost his ability to stand or walk! Was selling out his tools. I bought his very large, heavy duty bench grinder, for $35, and am still using it 40 years later! It is U.S. made, and will probably last until my son gets it home, them leaves it sit outside!
I bought a bench vise for $10, and a pipe wrench for a quarter, that because the little jaw side flaps were bent out, and the handle looked like they used it for beating on pipes! Some judicious squeezing in the $10 vise got it all back in shaape! All of that is U.S. made, but old!
