Free tractors:

I look in the mirror every day, and all i see is the same face as always! That said--last Saturday, a week ago, a feller drove in, and said, if i followed him to his place, he'd give me his old Craftsman lawn tractor, free! Of course, i drove over, and there in his 4 car garage, along side his ancient Ford Mustang, and his late model Mustang, and his Isetta Coupe, the kind that you have to open the fronnt and crawl in around the steering wheel, and floors you could eat off of, there sat a really nice C-man lawn tractor. (silver) Said we'd have to push, so up it went into my truck, and away it went to my place. Clean as a pin, as the saying goes! took a new solenoid to fix it.

Next day-same scenario--a family back our road said if i'd come to their place, they'd give me their old tractor! Of course, i took it--a dark gray Craftsman lawn tractor! Clean, too! Mows great-hydro doesn't whine!

Then today, while exercising that one, a friend stopped and said, if i'd go back to his place, he'd give me his old C-man tractor! Of course, i went---but it looked like 40 miles of bad road! He sez it'll run ok, just needs some TLC. Got a bagger with it! Yep, some guys have all the luck--sometimes!

Karma has smiled on you, three times in a week! Hope you find a couple of needy folks who can use a 'free' tractor and spread the wealth around.

Rusty always has this kind of luck. He always comes up smelling like a rose.
No need to look for some needy folks looking for a free tractor. Rustyj is the "needy folk" and he's gonna sell or trade these for personal gain...........just as God and karma intended him to. So he can continue to pick & grin with the best of 'em. You go rustyj! :^)

The response to ads on c.l. this year has been huge, I picked up six tractors, all easy fixes (good thing I had a spare 42" MTD deck) but they all have new homes. My latest find was this 2005 GT5000. I gave the guy a few bills for it. Only running on one cylinder, a mouse munched the insulation on the P lead to one of the mags, arcing off of the cylinder head. Had a good size oil leak at the sump, so I pulled the big Briggs ELS and found a nice two inch piece of gasket material lying in the sump. Two hours later with a nice bead of rtv black a la Kohler she was purring like a kitten. Tomorrow I pick up a Honda 3013 with bagger.

YUMMM!! You made a great deal on that one!
I have had several bites on the latest tractors, but i hate to part with the dark gray one. It runs great, mulches well, and does a nice job on my big lawns!
I really looked at the junky free one today. Oh, i'll have to plate the frame, to get the engine to stay in place. I may still part it out. If i can make it run, i'll delve into it some more.
I went out on a run tonite, in my pickemup, hauled home 3 windows for the guy across the road, then went out scavenging, but found nothing, so i decided a cool one would finish off the evening, so here i am! CHEERS!!
