I have a 1989 stx 38. It has mowed a lot of grass over the years and been a very good lawn tractor. The brakes have finally given out. I have found several postings about changing the brake pads. I have not found any on how to access the area of the trans axle where the rotor and pads are located. It appears to be located within the frame box under the seat. I'm looking for some advice on how to get at the rotor to change the pads. Will tipping the tractor up on it's side and blocking it up allow me to get to the rotor?
Would it be easier to tip it up on the front end?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
