I have a 7 year old Toro Vision II Plus controller. The digital readout is barely visible anymore. Other than that it works fine. I usually manual start it anyway so unless I would happen to take a week vaction that wouldn't be an issue. Was told the the controller was discontinued last year, so sounds like I must replace it.

Is a controller easy to replace on your own? Do all my sprinkler repairs and draining of the system myself.

Can one replace with a Rainbird controller or is it best to stay with a Toro since the rest of the system is Toro. (Live in IOWA where it gets cold) Thank you!
