I've been searching. Haven't come up with much. That was a great engine. Rare but probably the best 2 cycle tecumseh came up with. Best bet used would be to check e-bay and search on "Snapper".

They were a pretty expensive option on a snapper so we didn't see too many. Funny thing about them was the snapped intakes all the time. The air cleaner was on the front so I guess someone would bump a split rail fence or something about that high and it would snap.

Great engine. It's a cast sleeve so if your motor hasn't grenaded maybe you can rebuild it.

The parts list is awesome. A lot of help. I have located a new short block but the owner doesn't know the hp or the model #. All he has is the short block assembly part number.

I would guess but it's your money. Have him measure the crank from bottom tip to case. That may be your tip. I could be wrong but I never saw many differences in tvxl.
Tough call though.

Did you search on that shortblock number? Pass it on.

The number he has on the short block is 710415 . Like I said , he doesn't know if it is 3.5hp or 5hp. Can anyone confirm this number or application?

I have one of these engines on a Lawnboy 21 inch deck. It is rated 5hp. 8.4 cubic inches, 140cc or 5HP. You can check the thread out at MTF under the heading Lawnboy with Tecumseh two stroke engine. The system here wont take the link.
