You'llprobably have to rebuild the carb in order for it to run right............sounds more like a fuel problem than a oil mix issue................I picked up a homelite trimmer,that did the same thing as you describe......It was a non-adjustable carb.......I had to rebuild the carb to clear it up...........

Check the bolts/screws of the carb to cylinder. They can vibrate loose. The fuel lines can go soft or get pin holes. The carb diaphragms will get stiff or wrinkled.

Yes, Bill W is correct. The bolts vibrate out of the cylinder. After this happens the crankcase seperates from the cylinder and the gasket draws air causing a lean run condition and subsequent failure. Best thing Ive found to fix this is lock washers and red loctite.
The other thing you have to check on these is the exhaust ports. This may be where your problem is. Inside the muffler is a screen that collects carbon and plugs up preventing the engine from breathing properly. Take the plastic engine cover off the unit and then remove the muffler bolts. Clean the ports out with a popsicle stick and also clean the screen with a wire brush and you should be good for another season. If you have a torx bolt set, install a set of 1/8 inch ID lockwashers on those crankcase to cylinder bolts. Make sure you run your fuel mix with some extra oil in it for these engines. I would say no leaner than 32:1 and you should get a couple of good seasons out of it.

Spark arrestor is a very common problem. If you are running the proper oil gas ratio for the blower it should have never become blocked. More oil is not better when it comes to a two stroke. As far as your possible blocked spark arrestor just discard it as it is not needed unless you live in Cali. or another fire prone area..
