Sounds like the battery is discharged/bad.

It is likely a 120VAC starter. Try plugging the extension cord into another tool to see if it is the problem.

Its a 120V AC starter. You plug one end into the snowblower and the other in a wall outlet.

Tried that. Tried a couple different extension cords in fact.

First time I tried with a regular orange outdoor extension cord, of about 20 feet. Nope.

So I think "maybe its loosing power over that distance" so I tried the short 6 foot cord it came with.

Today I'll be trying different outlets to see, its possible that old outlet in the garage is bad, I'll try the new GFI on the patio.

If your blower is less than 2 years old, it is still under warranty.

If so, take it to a Tec dealer!

If not under warranty -you could remove the starter and try turning the gear by hand.If you can't turn the shaft- it is for sure BER, If you can, plug it back in- hold the starter tightly and try it again. On occaision, a brush sticks or for some other reason doesn't make good contact w/ the armature.

Combination of things. Dealer said it was a known problem. Pulled the starter and cleaned the contacts, and all was good.

So I take it back home and try that one outlet again. Nothing.

So I tried the one I use for my table saw. Success.

Guess this spring I'll be replacing an outlet.

Doh. LOL. I remember a similar complaint with a nearly new snow blower. Customer was upset that the starter would not work and wanted a new one on warranty. It worked fine at the shop. We refused to go any further until he brought his extension cord in, which he did not buy from us. The cord was punctured at two points the space between them the width of a car. He had driven over it with studded tires.

this is the first year it did not start! but this year it was left out side My shade was full of my kids stuff!

Choke it and pull start it . Most blowers start on 1 st or second pull . Have used my elect start twice in 4 yrs lol.
