I am planning to install a series of drip lines in my flower beds using Rain Bird's pressure-compensating emitter tubing since I've heard rave reviews about it and it's relatively inexpensive. From the Rain Bird documentation that is available online, I've been able to determine that their 1/4" line is only for spot watering small areas and it is not pressure-compensating. The 1/2" "XFD" line of tubing is listed as pressure-compensating but they reference another "ET63198" model of 1/2" emitter tubing for which I can find no mention of whether it is pressure-compensating or not. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the two? The XFD appears to cost more ($44 per 100ft rather than $25 per 100 ft) and I'd prefer not to pay more unless it's a tangibly superior product.
