Rainwater/downspout distribution system

I am having gutters installed over the40 foot long farmers porch on my house.A second story roof above that dumps on to this roof, so in heavy rain, a good bit of water will flow. The gutter is a long "L", 41 feet along the front with a 9 foot perpendicular section. The installer is suggesting that downspouts be placed at each end of the "L".

I have mulched beds along the entire length of the porch, with dwarf azeleas and dwarf alberta spruces. They have enjoyed the roof run off irrigation. I want to design some kind of rainwater distribution system to irrigate the bed. Don't want to dig underground drains, nor a drywell. Yard in front has in ground irrigation already. Porch is 5.5' deep, soild is very sandy and drainage is very good.

Ideas? Porch is about 2' high, so I could run some PVC back there. Could also run some kind of thin perf pipe under the mulch. Of course in a down pour the flow will be sizeable. I do not want a rain barrel. I like the concept, but don't want one (two) in front of the house.

I've seen these perforated vinyl sleeves also. Any ideas???
