snowblower drivetrain

After an afternoon of cleaing wet snow,my craftsman 9HP blower doesn't want to move anymore. It has 6 forward and 2 reverse settings-none work. Does anyone have any ideas on what happen? The weather,when I stopped,was raining pretty good.

I have an MTD 8 hp, and got the same problem... When I Lift the Wheels off the ground IN GEAR... They SPIN EASILY. So, I imagine the BELLT(S) need Adjusting as Snow or water got in there, (or grease) and made them SLIP?

Both of you should remove the belt covers and inspect them. sounds like water got on the belts. Maybe a spell in the warm garage will help.
