The gov linkage pics are on around page 35 of this document. Did you have to buy a new Tecumseh carb?

Looks like I will have to order one.Put in a carb kit and put carb back on today.I turned on the gas and gas started dripping from the main jet screw.W\I thought maybe this one was a tad longer so I put the old one back in.Still leaked.What would cause this?Do not see how it could leak with a new gasket for bowl and the main jet?Float setting is good and do not see where this would matter.Gas is dripping from the main jet area?Im confused.Looks like I wasted $15.00 and should have probably gotten a new one right away.I have done a few of these in 8HP and never had a leak before.

If it appears the gas is dripping from the screw itself, be sure that the brass washer is in place between the seal and spring. The nut itself has a gasket. If fuel is coming from above, than the float valve is leaking. This could be caused by debris, seat in backwards (or not square), float itself having fuel inside or float adjustment.On rare occaisions, you can have a bowl that is distorted or the float itself binds. I assume the kit had the new pin? Details on the specifics will be in the manual. Usually leakers can be fixed. It's the ones that can't be cleaned due to corrosion that get replaced the most.

Checked everything again.New hinge pin and no bind,put float in a can of gas and it does not sink(no leaks),float setting is good,needle and seat are installed correctly,and its clean.Turn gas valve on and gas runs fairly steady from bottom of main screw and small gasket area,not carb bowl gasket.I have flat side of bowl on inlet side and even with hinge pin.Even if the float setting was off,shouldnt the gasket stop it from leaking?Im confused.Also,I only have the number off of carb itself.How would I cross this over to an actual part # ?

Shut the fuel off, remove the main jet assembly and take it apart. The o-ring behind the brass washer Tom mentioned is likely damaged/deteriorated and needs to be replaced.

I mentioned the about the float as sometimes they seep ever so slightly out the carb throat or around the bowl seal and is hard to see as it runs down and drips off the low spot- the screw on the bottom. A paper towel will tell you if it is leaking from above or not. If in fact it leaks from the screw, it likely the washer like canguy said. Know that the o-ring must fit snugly over the screw or you have one that was compromised w/ carb spray or just wrong. If you think a new one is in order, my guess is a carb# that fits a similar vintage Hssk50 from the Toro link will be fine. It's not like one has to match a blood type or anything... The #s stamped show series and maybe a build date, but I don't know ow to cross. Years ago microfisch had a carb file- but I don't have one anymore.

It is leaking on bottom of carb.It has everything new that was in carb kit.That is why I cannot see where it would leak?Unless it is wrong from manufacturer.

If your sure on the float- return the kit. Or have them swap the jet assy. They have a parts warranty.

I took back to dealer and exchanged.He thought it was a flaw in main assy.I put everything together and it started right up.Blew some oil out the breather(rubber hose next to carb)Oil was overfull a little.Got it to run pretty good.Turned off the gas and left it sit for a couple of hours.Went back out to see how it would start and when I turned the gas on,it started leaking again.This time around the top of carb.Pretty steady drip.And also,the primer line was full of gas?Where do I go from here(Short of hanging myself)Have never,ever had this much trouble with a carb.

Needle and seat? I read that you replaced it.. but?

Blow the viton out and re-seat it.

Did you get the linkage figured out?

Been snowing a ton here and have not had time to re-do it.Thinking on ordering a new one to get it running and keep this one for a spare.New one has a fixed main jet.Going to guess at the linkage.
