Bolens Snowblower 824a

Apparently something broke in the gearbox between the drive wheels.When engaging the drive lever I can hold back the tires and the axle shafts slip inside of the gearbox.

Do the axles have to be taken out or can I leave them in and just unbolt the gearbox? Also not sure how to remove the wheels and axles if that needs to be done?

This is not a friction disc drive? Post the full model # and we'll take a look.

Tip it on it's nose, block it securely, and remove the lower cover. As Tom suggests, it is likely a friction drive, very simple system.

Have you ever taken the wheels off? I ask becuase the axle may have slipped and you may have lost a woodruff key. Patrick
