I'll tell you what kept them from munching away at our deer corn. Hell it keeps everything away from the corn now except the deer, turkey and hogs. Everything is gone now - mockingbirds, gophers, crows especially, prairie dogs, etc...

Owl or hawk decoys. But you have to move them every couple of days to make the scene look more real. They will catch on QUICK if the decoys stay in the same spot for more than a couple of days. If this doesn't work, use a small game trap from your local feed store. Bait it with whole pecans, nuts, corn, or apples. Release them at your local park or cemetary.

Hate to disappoint you but 99.9999% of squirrels won't eat poison. That's why you can't go into Home Depot and ask for "Squirrel poison." It doesn't exist. I don't care what any website wants to sell you. They are too smart to eat it. Just trap and release but I'm betting the owl or hawk decoy will work. Keep us updated.

By the way I shopped around for owl decoys online and found 4 at my local flea market the next day for $2 each and they're going on 5 years old now and still look brand new. I filled mine with cement and a metal spike that I drive it into the ground with.

The decoys work and I would add a rubber snake to the mix. Coyote urine sprinkled around the perimeter of your plot might work as well. GL Aloha

Another idea is a cd with predator noises(coyotes, owls, hawks, etc) on it that run out in the garden. Would scare the begeezes out the little darlings. Are they the ground type or tree type. Sulfur gas for the ground ones and M-80s for the tree types. Yup, I had a friend who hunted squirrels with M-80s and blew them out the trees where they would run and think they were safe. Pretty soon there were no more squirrels. JMHO Aloha

My father sawed pvc pipe in half and we cover the soaker hoses with the pipes cut in half. Works great! We did burn out an old table saw last year - so Dad got a new table saw for Father's Day. He used the table saw for years sawing these pipes. We reuse the pipes every year. The pipes are white so depending upon what you are using them for you may want to find a different color pipe to cut. We are putting the hose under the ground and using PVC pipe to surround it from the house to the garden. We buried the plastic hoses under the ground on the side of our garden and have done this for years also.

I'm going with sqirrel hunting. Might give them half a chance and use a slingshot but high powered pellet gun would probably be more effective.
