Help choosing a flowering tree

Hi all. Looking for a small centerpiece tree behind a fountain. Must be small, 10-15' tall and only a 6-8' spread. Moist to wet soil, full morning only sun. Soil is mildly acidic. It needs to be OK to prune, as I need to trim the bottom completely 4-5' up (need to work in the area around the base). Color as long as possible, spring thru summer preferably. Prefer white, yellow or orangish flowers. Fragance would be a big plus as it's right beside a front porch that we use often. Zone 6a.

I'm not really familiar with these, but have done some reading and my list currently includes:

*Star magnolia

*Pee Gee Hydrangea

*Centennial Star magnolia

I've also read some other threads on flowering trees that have suggested these:

*American plum

*Yulan magnolia

*Chitalpa

*S. Obassia

*Prunus mume

No idea if any of those would fit my criterial though.

Would appreciate any suggestions!
