Kohler CV15 ignition module replacement

Hello-I'm attempting to replace the ignition module on my Deere LX255 but having some trouble. I can't seem to find an exact procedure anywhere but am working off of the Kohler engine service manual steps for engine disassembly. I've removed the blower housing and have swapped out the ignition module. But I can't seem to rotate the flywheel to line the magnets up to the ignition module so that I can gap it correctly and make sure it won't scrape it. How do I rotate the flywheel in order to do this? It seems like it's locked up tighter than a drum. The engine runs so I know it's not seized or anything like that. Is there something simple that I'm missing? I'm not really mechanically inclined so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

-Matt
