I've had trouble posting under my original name akachrisinmass so opened up a new account.

The JD155 seized up after burning its oil as fuel which is a disappointing end for a 9 year old tractor. I got $400 from an old guy who has the time to take these things apart fix em and sell.

Got myself a new Husqvana YTH22v46 which arrived today. Even got to put it to work. Like all new things it will take a while to learn and get the best from.

Only negative I noticed so far was the occasional burst of very hot air coming from the engine. I guess that is due to the open sides of the engine cover, unlike the JD's closed sides.

Those JD's probably run hotter than they need to.

On the plus side, smoother, quieter engine and deck, nice cut and going from 38 to 46 inch deck helps reduce time. Steering is much lighter than the JD's ever was.

Hopefully this is my last tractor until 2025.

Unfortunately, there will be no new lawn "tractors" in the year 2025...as we know them now. They will be electric ZTRs of all new designs. This forum will be re-named either "Vintage Tractors Forum" or "Electric ZTR's Forum" or "Lazer-based Lawn Cutting Equipment Forum" or.....

Yeah, the Muslims hate grass, so we'll have to kill all of ours, and have sand lawns instead!

Nope, the grass will be genetically altered so that it takes very little water, has VERY little gowth and will only need to be "trimmed" once a year. You're going to need either snow or a garden to drive anything fun.

We were at a Kohler-Hydro gear update class recently where Hydro Gear introduced their electric PTO spindle, handy if you find the need to cut grass at 6.00 a.m.

I would definitely buy a Husqvarna! I do not own one but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one! The more I read about them and see them, the more I like them. They make a lot more stuff than what you see at the big box stores. I was on their website. They make commercial grade zero turn mowers! I didn't know that! They are mean machines! They are also very innovative. Check out their YouTube videos like the TrioBrake chainsaw or the "The Husqvarna Rider". Those are some great products! Just search for "TSHGM" on YouTube.

Hate to burst your bubbles about Husqie, but I consider mine "Agent Orange". I, as well as two acquaintances, have had nothing but TROUBLE with ours. I've had it since '05, and it has only 92 hours on it, mostly because the $#@# thing won't start or won't run. As I'm writing this, it's in the shop AGAIN, and I have a horse in my back yard eating the grass down. I have 2 neighbors who have JD's, and they've had nothing but trouble with those, too. Trying to decide what I'm going to get to replace the Husqie that won't work.

Get a 40 year old mower fix it up and it will last another 40 years. Not to mention it will run circles around any box store ayp or mtd today.
