Soil Test Results

18 years ago

For anyone caring to comment I had two beds tested and just received the results. Both beds contain annuals flowers and vegetables and include plenty of compost and shredded oak leaves. Other than the higher than desirable PH levels how do things look?

Bed A

Ph 7.1

Nitrogen 14 ppm

Organic matter 19.8 % (desirable is 4-10)

P = 98 ppm very high

K= 131 ppm high

Ca = 3731 ppm very high

Mg = 404 ppm very high

Lead level soil is low - SHOULD I DO ANYTHING?

Summary - Potassium and phosphorus are sufficient.

Ph is slightly high

You may apply the standard recommendations or provide sufficient nitrogen by using alternate sources to provide ¼ lb nitrogen per 100 sq ft. WHAT WOULD BE ALTERNATE SOURCES

Bed B

Ph 6.8

Nitrogen 48 ppm

Organic matter 25.8 %

P = 63 very high

K = 137 high

Ca = 3436 very high

Mg = 464 very high

Lead level is low

Soil contains a significant quantity of nitrate nitrogen

Organic matter appears to be quite high J

I skipped a few items such as lead levels but can provide if it were to help.
