How long did it take from chop day to first leaf sprout? I just hacked one irritating branch from my Rik Ni Ran.

I had actually pruned it right before it went dormant so it didn't start sprouting new branches until Spring. I should have waited but no harm no foul. Another one I pruned the single stem after I bought it and it's 3 blooms died is already sprouting 4 new branches. I'd say it took the new growth to start in about 2 weeks. I'm at about week 4. Hopefully I'll be seeing some new flower buds in another couple of weeks.

Oh, and I'm debating a slight prune job on the Rik Ni Ran when it's flowers drop as well. Not sure 100% though.

Kirk, you really trimmed that one up perfection. You must have a very artistic eye. It is beautiful. I like the caudex that is winding around the plant also. Really gives it character.

Thanks ladylotus! I am fairly artistic. Started drawing at a very early age as an art and not the regular kiddy scribbles. I didn't get to start trying my hand at painting until I was about 13. Of course I didn't discover my photography skills until I was about 22. Then I got into a rut and wasn't creative for several years. Recently I'm getting back into the groove with it all. And these desert roses sure are inspiring in their own right!
