Slug Bait on Desert Rose

Something seems to be eating away at my desert rose leaves , I think it is slugs, as it been raining here alot. can I use Metaldehyde (the main ingredient in Slug bait) on my desert rose? Please tell me yes , because I dusted some on my plant out of frustration without consulting with the experts here.

I don't know about the product you mentioned but I may have had success with copper tape, no harm to plant. I ran it around the pot edge to like a 3" thickness. Good luck, I have one with a very seriously gnarly caudex from those darn things a few years ago.
