Wendy & Nancy, you've got email.
The lavender/purple flower in the 2nd pic. is a Colchicum - a fall flowering bulb. I forgot which variety it is. It was planted many, many years ago.

The purple/blue flower in the 3rd is Caryopteris 'Worcester Gold' - a small woody shrub. Isn't it pretty? Bees absolutely love it.

Your gardens are absolutely gorgeous, serious envy here as I also live withing city limits of "chi-town". Curious also as to zone 6, are we officially a zone warmer (yay!)
