My family has decided that I am trying to embarrass them by putting ugly milk jugs and what looks like garbage all over the backyard. They will be sorry come Spring and Summer when I can say, "Told you so!". Put my tomato seeds in yesterday too :)

Well I plan to start my tomatoes in febuary or march. Though others may have started them this early and have had success, so hopefully they will chime in.

As for the rest of your list the only ones I would question would be the moonflower and the angel trumpet. I would maybe wait on those also till late febuary or march.

Hosta seeds don't need cold stratification and can be sown anytime. That being said, I WS hosta seeds on December 25 last year and had sprouts the third week of April. I sowed seeds in June the year before and had sprouts in about 3 weeks.

The tomato seeds I WS February 21 sprouted March 2 and were fine through the rest of the cold weather.

My neighbor who is also a farmer laughed and laughed back in January & February last year as he watched my container ghetto grow. He stopped laughing and was open-mouthed shocked when he saw all my sprouts. Later he would pluck my WS tomatoes off the vine and eat them because he said they had such sweet flavor. Let 'em laugh--you'll have the last laugh which is always the best.

lol well we have started a concrete front porch and the block are up so there is a nice barrier from excessive wind...we will finish the porch in spring. so i put mine there they will still get good sun and all the elements but you dont really see them. i am just going to put them out there and forget about them until spring and see what all i get :). but i kept seeds just in case i was sowing something to early.
