Hydro problem. On start up the drive belt to the hydro ( I believe it is an Eaton, the fan is on the side, not on top, which also may date it), does not turn the hydro, the belt slips. The idler and tension pulleys are free. In about 3 minutes + or -, it will finally engage. After it does the tranny does not sound normal, but will go forward and reverse.
Here is my question: the cooling fan moves , up, down, sideways, that can't be correct. So am I lucky enough to just have a bad bearing on the shaft? Or is it just wishful thinking. From what I can find on the internet, I should be able to replace that bearing without entering the body of the tranny.
Thanks in advance for any and all input.
