I want to know this too. I am confused what can be put out now and what should be left until later. Plus do we leave the lid off the jugs?

These are just general guidelines, based on how frost tolerant each vegetable is, and how much warmth it needs to germinate.

Things to wintersow now:
Lettuces, spinach, arugula or other leafy greens
Broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts
Herbs (except basil) - parsley, cilantro, oregano, dill, marjoram, thyme, winter savory

Late February to April, depending on your zone (the higher the zone, the earlier you can sow):
Peas
Carrots
Radishes
Beets

March to April:
Tomatoes
Peppers
Basils

April to May:
Beans
Squash
Cucumbers
Melons

I think Trudi said she does her tomatoes in Feb. I've got lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower out already, waiting a couple of weeks for other veggies. Cukes I'll direct sow, works fine here in zone 6. They sprout in days and grow like weeds.
