I have a recipe for a soilless mix that has superphosphate and dolomite lime. The recipe was in an old AV magazine. The author of the article mentioned that she tests her soils ph level. She has a test kit. Does anyone else test their soil ph? Do you have a kit or do you send it out to be tested? Article states that the litmus paper tests were inaccurate. Where does one obtain the kits to test?

You can get soil test kits from your local Ag/Extention office...You could be testing alot
since "soiless mixes are not well buffered against pH changes" as per the following:

You can also get soil pH test kits in some nurseries and places like Home Depot. Remember when you use superphosphate in the soil you shouldn't fertilize your plants with fertilizer for about two to three months. The superphosphate IS the fertilizer.
