Do you have root rot?

This may help some of you who dont buy from growers and your avs arent producing any flowers or maybe they are but your plants just doesnt seem happy. If you have ruled out all bug infestations, you may need to do what I did. About half my plants werent even producing flower stalks. So I found this FAQ on this forum and it lit a fire under me and in checking my plants found that every one all 9 had root rot even thou about half were flowering. All my roots were brown and stiff and I put my plants under tepid water and washed all the roots down to make sure and yes they were still brown only did I get down next to the main stem for I found any white roots. This also gave me a good excuse to give them a good bath too and turning them upside down to wash under them too. So I did as the article said scraped them down used root hormone repotted with new soil, but I did not put them in a bag as it said. Two of the nine were shocked , drooping, but the others seem to be doing ok so far. No matter in the long run its best for my plants , if they die , they were dieing anyway, certainly not happy and producing as you would like. Glad I did it. So if you find that your roots are brown, after washing the roots, its root rot, down be afraid to do it. They are youre children and you know whats best for them. Am I crazy, maybe. So for anyone brave enough to do this heres the link.
